The Global Spotlight Luncheon highlights an important community college mission—to prepare students for the job market in an ever-shrinking world. To be successful in the 21st Century, today’s community college graduates must be globally competitive. The 2012 keynote speaker is Ted Abernathy, Executive Director of the Southern Growth Policies Board, a 40-year old public policy think tank that provides economic development research and advice for 13 Southern states. This event is sponsored in part by The Wadhwani Foundation, a private philanthropic foundation created to accelerate economic development in India and other emerging economies through large scale job creation and skill development.
